ABOUT US

The Iron Range GSA did not have an easy start. Originally, we wanted to be an official school club. After months of hard work, we finally presented to the school board. Despite massive community and staff support, our request was denied. Some community members actively spoke against us, and it made things pretty tough for us for a while. Despite all this, we didn't let that stop us. We decided this is the exact reason we so badly need an organization like this in our area; to provide a safe space for LGBTQ+ youth who might not feel supported in our community. After a bit more work, we finally formed a community organization, welcoming students from surrounding areas. We held our first meeting in December 2021. We are glad to say that we've made progress! We now host events and help with our community Pride festival, among many other great things. We want to thank all of our supporters, members, and officers for helping us get this far, we couldn't have done it without you!
